To change the shape or size of the objects certain force has to be applied. For example
1. If we pull both the ends A and B away from each other with our hands, then the shape and size of the spring changes. In this case, the force of our hands changes the shape and size of the spring and the distance between the turns of the spring increases. On the other hand If we push both the ends A and B towards each other with our hands,then the force of our hands changes the shape and size of the spring. The distance between the turns of the spring decreases.
